Mommy life

Be yourself; Everyone else is already taken.

This is the first post on my new blog. I’m just getting this new blog going, so stay tuned for more. Subscribe below to get notified when I post new updates.

I wake up every day thinking, “Here we go again!” Put myself in motion and start my morning routines- trying hard not to hit that snooze button because I know those extra 7 minutes will throw off an entire morning.

So here I go ….. to the kitchen. Empty the dishwasher so I can have pump parts and bottles for my almost 8 month old, prep my breast pump, grab a coffee, my computer, the baby monitor and spend the first 25 minutes at the table. I make my lists, prepare everything I have to do next (The usual mom stuff- pack the daycare bag, pack up my pump for work, pack myself a lunch, shower, get dressed (pray I don’t have to iron-or luckily my husband will do it for me!), get the baby up- changed, dressed, feed; hopefully have time to make a smoothie, kiss my hubby goodbye and off to start our day.

After dropping my little guy off at daycare, I head to my full time job- 6th grade Special Education Teacher. Teaching has and always will be a passion of mine. I love the ah ha moments, the excitement when they achieve something / understand a concept, and just the overall opportunity to help shape them into the person they may become. I spend my days teaching, checking the app at daycare to see how my little guy is doing and trying to balance the paperwork and teaching until the bell rings to dismiss us for the day.

I could continue on with the afterschool/ evening routine but I am sure you get the drift. SOOOOO……..Can you relate to any of this? Are you constantly on the go, trying to make all the little pieces fit together? Feel like your drowning or just barely staying above the water? It is hard. I wont deny that. Balancing life and finding happiness in it can be so difficult (especially when you are so tired and hungry and been driving around all night to show the family your son in his first Halloween costume and you are sharing a pizza with your husband on your drive home for the night. )

I am not here to tell you that there is a magic way to make everything better. To make life a little less difficult. To find more hours in the day. It does not exists. But what you can do is embrace each day. I constantly remind myself that my son will only be this little once. I have to enjoy these moments of him struggling to crawl, and baby talking dada (of course before mama lol). If I want to do something, I have to do it. The only person stopping me from achieving my goals is me.

I share this all with you in hopes that you can relate to it. That you can appreciate that you are not alone in the struggles and battles of trying to balance it all. I also want to inspire you to reach for your goals and dreams. To push yourself out of your comfort zone and work towards what you want. For me, writing this all down, this free flow of thought, is both therapeutic and a goal of mine. I have always wanted to have my own blog- to share my life, my journey, my travel adventures- ME! So here I am. Sharing with you. I hope to see you follow me along on my journey by following my blog. Feel free to drop some comments. I promise to get back to you all.
